Good morning all. I can not go on blogger and comment in the afternoon. Sooo aggravating. I have not received any mail yet. Jake did not eat much yesterday. I think it is because the other day I ground up some food and mixed it in and he didn't like it, so he thinks I am trying to trick him. I left out a jar for him again today. Hopefully he will eat.
Danielle, Good morning!
I'm sure when he gets hungry he will, and forgive you for the trickery last time.
The two pics for the day are so cute.
Anyways, does anyone have advice on dealing with a step-son who doesn't listen to you at all. There's more to it but not enough time to type it all down. I just thought I would ask the Fuzz Family for any helpful advice.
TGIF!!!!! Although it kind of sucks too, cause my husband is out of town in Hawaii..so the weekend will stink...sucks when your best friend leaves town.
Katnippa,
I would suggest trying to just talk a little more. I'm sure you've tried but that's all I got. Sorry.
Riquel,
I forgot how long is he gone for? That stink that he's gone w/out you. But we are here for you.
Danielle-ditto what Katnippia said about Jake and the food.
Katnippia, you should talk to MY step-mother. I was the MOST OBNOXIOUS step-child in history!! We still are "polite" to each other, but will never be best friends. I'm afraid I don't have advice, but lots of sympathy. step-mothering is a VERY hard job.
Hi all,
Wish I could help with the stepson but have no experience there and when my own son was a teenage, he never listened anyway. Now he is 38 and said he appreciates everything we said now but didn't at the time. Unfortuately, he and his wife do not plan on any children, therefore he will never understand how frustrating it was.
Danielle, hope Jake eats that whole jar before you get home from work. Sometimes the progress is by baby steps and as katnippia said, he will eat when hungry. It is so hard to log on in the afternoon, this may be my only posting for the day. Riquel, I know it is hard because my husband used to travel before retirement and one time was gone for a month. I just rented movies (chick flicks), went out with girlfriends and read alot (I love to read mysteries). Hope the weekend goes well for all and Jake, eat your food to build up your strength.
Val, How old is he? And he lives w/you?
Kat1, no he doesn't live with us, and he will be 12 in August. His mother tells him that he doesn't have to listen to us , mainly me. He also has no respect for any type of female authorative figure. My husband makes excuses for him, and he thinks when he is here that its all fun and games. I just don't know what else to do. Kat or anyone can email me I won't get home until 9:30 - 10:00 tonight, so i'll check the post later tonight.
Rita- sorry you have to move back in with Bryans parents. How are the two of u, and the fuzz's doing?
In my opinion you should tell your husband that the child needs to obey waht you guys tell him and if he doesn't then there will be consecquences(sp?) If the husband doesn't like that then tell him you are part of the family too and you should have some say in what goes on.
I would worry a little. He will in time come to realise your here to help not hurt. He might have to be segragated for a while if tha twill help.
Hello Danielle! Fanks you furry much for the happy Purrthday wishes! I am havin a party ALL weekend, your kitties (& any woofies if you have any) are welcome to stop by!
Hello Oreo. It is my pleasure to wish you a happy birthday. I will get my boys together and stop by soon. Hope you have lots of fun!!!
Thanks guys...I should be used to it, he is in the USMC (Reserves now)but I am not...at least it is only for 2 weeks, he will be home next Saturday, last time he left me was for 6 months! I was going to go with him this time (to HI) but I backed out cause I didn't want to spend that much money. At least this time he is in HI and not Afghanistan or God forbid Iraq.
