A new week

My kids started at the YMCA summer camp this morning. My daughter is upset because she doesn't get a free vacation. I can only assume that means staying home all the time. I'm not sure. Well I had another incident with Jake over the weekend. I noticed he had a hole on his hind quarter. I took him to the vet Saturday morning for blood work. We did not notice it then. I found it Sat night. I took him again Sunday morning. He had stitches. The vet thinks it could be from a bite, a reaction to meds or from the injection site. It is from about a week ago. It just appeared Saturday though.

My gosh, that is a huge hole. Poor Jake, he is a tough little kitty.
Tell Jake to remember that chicks dig scars. Ha-ha.
And you had to take him on Sunday. Did you go to the Emergency Vet? That's all that's open here on Sundays.

The replacements is a good movie. He is not drinking much. He is eating a little but I think he vomited. The regular vet is open on Sunday from 9-12. Thank god. I called an emergency vet when I first saw it. It was about midnight. It would have been 110 just to take him there to be seen.
I will pass on that tid bit of info.

OMG, cannot believe you all recognized that movie. It is one of my favorites. One of my favorite quotes is when the coach asks "You know what separates the winners from the losers?" and Falco answers, "the score?".

My experience with the emergency vets has been spend ALOT of $$$ and get sorta CYA advice until the "real vet" opens. Guess if it was life-threatening, they know what to do. I like vets being open on Sunday. My pets always seem to get sick on Friday or Saturday night.

Oh, poor Jake! SOMETHING jumped up and bit him in the butt!!

DANNIELLE--Good for you!! It's never easy, but it does get easier!! My 21st anniversary is tomorrow; it's also our 36th wedding anniversary!! Paul hung in there for me, and we managed to keep it together. Funny one--we didn't get a fridge with an automatic icemaker until AFTER I quit drinking!!

How is Jake's behavior this evening? Hope he's getting an appetite back. Read somewhere if cats are eating canned cat food (or even baby food) they are already getting a lot of water. Of course, Jake is special, he may need lots more water. Love the pictures, he is a doll.
